Krugersdorp —After a resident wrote a letter regarding the property in Human street, (number 041/042), the West Rand Window Newspaper visited another resident in the street and heard how criminal activities are influencing the neighbourhood.
The property, that has been ransacked, used to be a ortodonists’s practice. While
walking through the house, it became very evident that the concerns of the neighbours were valid.
The West Rand Window saw a person sleeping in the house, while signs of sexual
activity, and human fecus were also discovered. The resident that told the West Rand Window reporter the background of the property, said that the owner of the house is a Pakistan male.
Efforts to contact this owner, has been unsuccessful, although the West Rand Window received a photograph of the man on Facebook.
There are several concerns roaming in the area, such as a possible fire that can break out, the noise the neighbors experience, health risks, as rats are were regularly spotted.
There used to be a guard on the property, but after he left, members of the community started helping themselves to air conditioners, wood, iron roofing material and window frames, just to mention a few.
The resident said she drew up a petition regarding this problematic property, where some neighbours signed it.
The resident investigated the background of the house, and found that the owner if the property is behind with his rates and taxes.
The resident that wrote the letter to another publication, also mention drug use, such as nyope and criminals with axes and crowbars. Break ins are a serious headache, not just in the neighbourhood, but also for police and security companies.
Both the above mentioned residents feel that the owner of this property neglected his responsibility recklessly and is endangering the lives of the neighbourhood.
There is an urgent request for the owner of this property to come forward, by the residents not only in Human street, but also by surrounding streets in the area.
