Adlem for the checkered flag
Randfontein – With the beginning of this year’s V8 Supercars Championships, local racer, Mackie Adlem – from Adlem Auto Racing, started with one goal in mind, to defend his 2017 championship title and to once again be crowned as the V8 Supercars Champion.
According to Adlem, this was no easy task. With so many talented racers sharing each circuit with him, it was an uphill battle to stay on the top of the log. However, with just two races to go in this year’s championship, Adlem still holds the lead with a mere 10 points.
Adlem explains that there are 40 points up for grabs during each race weekend.
“Our season so far was blessed, but every racer experiences some setbacks. For us this came in the form of differential problems during our Phakisa race and a flat tire during our visit to the renowned Kayalami racing circuit,” says Adlem.
He adds that despite the setbacks, he is proud to still lead the championship and will continue to race his heart out to ensure yet another season victory.
“With the competition being fierce, and only two races remaining, any one of the top 5 racers can still take the season victory. But I am confident that 2018 will be yet another Adlem Auto Racing victory,” says Adlem.
Those who want to see Adlem in action during the 2018 season can visit Swartkopz Raceway on either 20 October or 10 November to see the final two races of this year’s V8 Supercars Championships.
Aside from Adlem’s achievements in the V8 Supercars Championship, he is also showing his tremendous skill in the Lotus Challenge. He is also the proud defending champion in this form of racing and the current leader with only two races to go in this year’s Lotus challenge.
The remaining races in the Lotus Challenge will all take place at Swartkopz raceway on 20 October and 3 November.
“This year was a great year of racing for me in both the V8 Supercars and Lotus challenges. I am determined to make this my second consecutive year as champion in both disciplines and with a blessed season thus far, I believe that I can accomplish this goal,” Adlem concludes.
